SDI Sidemount Diver
Looking to try something new and take your diving to the next level? The SDI Sidemount Diver course is your gateway to a more flexible, streamlined, and comfortable way of diving. Perfect for recreational divers seeking better trim and control, sidemount offers real advantages underwater. You’ll learn to configure and dive with sidemount cylinders, manage your gas efficiently, and move through tighter spaces with ease—all while reducing strain on your back. It’s also a great option for shorter divers or anyone tired of bumping their head on the tank!

The Sidemount Diver course teaches you how to dive with independent cylinders while improving trim, control, and comfort underwater. We’ll cover:

What’s in it for you?
Upon successful completion of this course, graduates may engage in sidemount diving activities without direct supervision, provided the following limits are adhered to:
- Safety stops as appropriate
- Planned dives do not exceed diver’s current certification level
Also, the SDI Sidemount Diver certification counts towards a single specialty rating to achieve the SDI Advanced Diver Development Program.
Course Duration
The minimum course duration for the sidemount course consists of two open water dives.
We include land drills and two pool sessions.
Extra training
If the course cannot be completed within the dives planned and further training is deemed necessary we offer additional training. The costs for this are €150,- per extra day of training.
Course prerequisites
- Minimum age of 15 years old (15 through 17 years with parental consent)
- SDI Open Water Scuba Diver or equivalent.
